Lake Baringo Club Hotel is a Mecca for bird watchers and a highlight of the ornithology circuit of East Africa as 460 species of bird have been recorded thus far. The hotel has a special atmosphere as hippos often graze at night on the lawns. Guests are able to hear a symphony of birds singing from the morning into the night. Crocodile are also spotted along the lake as well as kingfishers for the local fisherman’s daily catch. A visit to the local tribe of Manyatta village is a popular activity for guests as the Njemps reside in the area, which is related to the Maasai and Samburu.
