Overview Description

Seated on the western bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River, the camp is shaded with Acacia and Kigelia trees with elephants often wander around the tents on their thirst-quenching trip to the river to drink and bathe. Birds flit in the trees and monkeys swing from the branches, their calls adding to the serene ambience of this eco-friendly camp. Elephant Watch Camp is a deluxe accommodation for discerning AfricanMecca guests traveling in northern Kenya who have a love for elephants.

Sheltered under grass roofs, the tents are made of canvas and protective mesh. They have attached, part al-fresco bathrooms at the back where you can experience bucket showers on your bush safari in this gem expanse of Africa. Warmed by the sun through solar panels, hot water is poured into brightly painted buckets and hoisted onto the tree branch in your bathroom. Quality toiletries are available for your use and later you can slip into a bathrobe as lively as the room linens.  Have your meals in the covered dining area or under the shaded trees beside the river. The camp offers you tasty meals that combine flavors from Italy with those of African bush. They use organic ingredients grown in their own garden and you will relish their cold soups, freshly baked breads, biscuits and rolls topped with salads, pasta, fresh fruit juices and so much more. Dinners are romantic meals, served under the open African skies, lighted by a campfire and lamps to the harmony of owls hooting, baboons barking and perhaps, elephants trumpeting as they drink off the river.
